The E.G.O. energy regulator can achieve stepless adjustment between 6% i 70% of the rated power. At the highest setting, the heating process is continuous and the output power is 100% of the rated output. Longer current on time and shorter circuit off time achieve higher output power, such as for heating and frying. Shorter current on time and longer circuit off time achieve lower output power, such as for slow cooking.

The structure and working principle of the EGO energy regulator
The EGO energy regulator can control the temperature of the heating element by repeatedly connecting and disconnecting the circuit at longer or shorter time intervals. If set to the highest control point, the power output will be continuous. The energy regulator is installed directly behind the control knob.

The energy regulator mainly consists of a heated bimetallic strip and a snap-action component (i.e. a switch spring with contact points). When the heating element is turned on, the bimetallic strip starts to heat up and the current flows in parallel to the heating resistor in the cooking area. This causes the bimetallic strip to heat up, change its shape, and trigger the relevant contacts. When the control shaft position is rotated, a built-in cam changes the distance between the bimetallic strip and the regulator contact. The size of this gap changes the interval between the circuit connection and disconnection.
