Sensor suhu air adalah komponen teras sistem penyejukan kereta. Komponen terasnya ialah termistor NTC, yang dipasang pada kepala silinder enjin atau saluran air. Komponen ini kelihatan sederhana, Tetapi sebenarnya sangat penting untuk mengawal enjin. Ia secara langsung akan menjejaskan penyesuaian ECU terhadap jumlah suntikan dan masa pencucuhan.

Sensor EGT bertanggungjawab membaca suhu komponen sistem selepas rawatan seperti Doc Inlet, Inlet DPF, Outlet DPF, Inlet scr, scr outlet, dll., dan menghantar maklumat ini kembali ke ECM untuk mengekalkan suhu yang betul yang mengawal sistem selepas rawatan untuk mengurangkan pelepasan yang berbahaya.
